Troop Meetings: Laguna Niguel Presbyterian Church, 30071 Ivy Glenn, Laguna Niguel

Every 1st, 2nd and 3rd  Tuesday of each month from 7pm-8pm .  

Every  4th  Tuesday is PLC-Patrol Leaders Council – only scouts who are Patrol Leaders attend and plan agendas.

FACTS:

o   One of the oldest troops in South Orange County, chartered in July 1973-Troop 773

o   Medium-sized troop ranging from 35-50 scouts with many opportunities for younger scouts to serve in leadership

o   Scouts from Niguel Hills, AVMS, Dana Point and Aliso Niguel HS and local private schools

o   Ages 11-17 with many new and 2nd/3rd year scouts and many active Life Scouts in Troop

o   We stress BSA value and skills in a casual atmosphere

o   Advances a higher average # of scouts to Eagle!

o   Camping is scheduled every month along with additional activities: Rock Climbing, White Water Rafting, Hiking, Biking, Swimming, Backpacking, Sailing, Kayaking and many more.

o   Skills Learned: Leadership, Team Work, Outdoor awareness, planning and safety, Cooking, Knots, Lashings and more.

o   Troop Trailer with excellent camping gear

o   Dedicated/ Trained  Adult Leadership and parent volunteers

o   Parents are always welcome and encouraged to join the campouts and outings.  Youth Protection Training required 

for all parents who want to register with the Troop.  Strongly recommended when attending Campouts. 


 Parent Meeting:  To discuss  Troop activities, finances and to answer questions.  Generally held the first Tuesday of each  month during the scout meeting, unless otherwise indicated by the Committee Chairman.  Great way to find out what’s going on in the Troop.

Court of Honor:  Award ceremony for the whole family to watch scouts receive rank advancements and merit badges.

Dues:  Annual Dues are $150.  Sept. 1-Aug. 31.  Collected in September or arrangements can be made for installment payments until Dec.  Dues will be pro-rated for bridging mid year.  Generally $75 at registration. 

 Covers camping fees, badges and patches, COH,  equipment and other Troop expenses. Must be current to go on trips.

Boys are responsible for expenses such as food $$ for campouts, fees for special activities-rock climbing, white water rafting, canoeing, merit badge days, summer camp fees, uniforms, and handbooks.

Uniforms (2): Class A--Official Boy Scout Uniform-tan shirt, green pants, neckerchief-- to be worn at all meetings, traveling to events, Court of Honor and other official troop activities.  Purchase at Scout shop.  

Class B—Trailblazer green troop t-shirt/sweatshirt.  Available for purchase through the T-Shirt chairperson.

Fundraising:  General – supports Troop funds- Popcorn Sales starts Aug. and Scout-O-Rama Tickets-March

Individual fundraising –profits go to scout’s individual account –earned thru Wreath sales and participation in concession stand sales at Holiday Parade. 

Parent Participation: Our Troop has its strengths in the parent participation with the boys’ activities and functionsof the Troop.  Their support and dedication has made our Troop a continued success since 1973.  One parent of each Scout is expected to volunteer some time to help in any way they can.
